Tri-Town Pride Parade
The Boxford Dems will take part in the Tri-Town Pride Parade on Sunday, June 1, in Topsfield, marching under the banner of “Tri-Town Democrats”. The 0.8 mile parade starts at 1:00 p.m. and can be viewed from Grove Street and Main Street in Topsfield Center.
Pride parades serve as a platform for advocacy and activism. They are an opportunity to celebrate and embrace your own LGBTQ+ identity or to show support for your friends, family and community members. Pride month is a time to honor the progress that has been made in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights and to acknowledge the diversity and resilience of the community.
By walking in a pride parade, you help increase visibility for the LGBTQ+ community. This visibility can raise awareness about the challenges and discrimination that LGBTQ+ individuals face, fostering understanding and empathy among the general public. It sends a powerful message of solidarity and inclusivity. Remember that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are hallmarks of the Democratic Party.
As Democrats we are happy to march in support of LGBTQ+ rights. If you would like to walk with us, please contact Christian, chreistian@boxforddems.org or Nora at nora@boxforddems.org, for more information. Everyone is invited to march.
Please visit the organizers for more information and updates at http://tritownhrc.org/#march-with-us.

No Kings / Rehire National Park Rangers
From the organizers:
Save the date April 19, Minute Man NHP in Concord, Mass.: For the 250th anniversary of the battles of Lexington and Concord, we have the perfect time and place to show our support for fired federal workers and to rehire park rangers as well as to protect national parks and public lands. 100,000 visitors are expected in the park and along the parade routes.
Stay tuned, further action details are still in progress. We’re calling for posters/cardboard (suggested size 16” x 12” max), decorate clothing, wear sandwich boards, or attach signs to bicycles. Slogans should be succinct (2, 3 or 4 words), family-friendly targeting, on one side, the gutting of the national parks, public lands & history, rehiring fired park rangers and, on side B, the un-Constitutional or un-American activities of the Trump Administration. Whatever issue you'd like to advocate, we'd ask its wording be brief and powerful. For example:
No Kings / Rehire Rangers, Illegal Firings
Mad King / Preserve History
Donald So Angry / Protect Nat’l Parks
King dude, you’re angry / Save Public Lands
National park rangers are some of the higher profile, popular heroes who have emerged since the firing of almost 1,000 of them last month, the so-called Valentine's Day Massacre. While a judge has ordered rehiring national forest workers, employees of the national park service have not yet been rehired. Urban historical parks, including the Freedom Riders bus station in Montgomery, Alabama, have landed on DOGE lists to be sold. The Administration has removed environmental impact reviews from national forests and public lands.
Follow @rangerwoodstock on Instagram and Bluesky for the latest action update and links to transportation options, shuttle buses and road closures.
VIPs will be in attendance, potentially President Trump and King Charles. This is a Congressional recess weekend. Stay safe, have fun, immerse yourself in American history, and celebrate the patriotism that is the 1st Amendment. Media might ask what your sign means to you. Prepare your answer: brief, meaningful, impactful like a bumper sticker. Make it an event to remember!
